Miami continues to climb up the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings

The Miami Hurricanes football program is continuing to rise up the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings.

And UM’s upward trajectory has a chance to continue over the next week.

Miami earned the commitment of local four-star wide receiver Nathaniel Joseph on Tuesday evening, push the Hurricanes to the No. 26 overall class in the country on Wednesday morning. Going into that announcement, UM ranked No. 34 overall.

The Hurricanes currently sit at nine commitments with three of those pledges coming from four-star prospects: QB Jaden Rashada, WR Robby Washington, and Joseph.

UM’s class currently ranks seventh amongst ACC programs, trailing Clemson, Louisville, Pittsburgh, Duke, Wake Forest, and Boston College. All of those programs have at least 11 commitments in the 2023 cycle.

With key targets announcing over the next week, Miami likely isn’t done rising up the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings.

On July 1st, Miami could get more good news with a couple of Top 100, four-star prospects in tight end Riley Williams and defensive lineman Jaxon Howard, along with four-star defensive lineman Collins Acheampong set to make their college announcements.

Williams, who hails from Portland, Oregon, but is moving to Bradenton IMG Academy for his senior season, is trending on the 247Sports Crystal Ball to Miami. He ranks as the No. 77 overall player in the country.

Williams will be announcing between Miami, Alabama, and Ohio State.

Howard hails from Minneapolis, Minnesota and is choosing between Miami, LSU, Michigan, and Minnesota. He ranks as the No. 96 overall player in the country, according to the 247Sports Composite. There have been no crystal ball predictions logged for Howard at this point, but his recruitment is believed to be a battle between Miami and LSU.

Acheampong, who hails from Southern California, is an intriguing 6-feet-7 and 254 pound edge rusher that has a basketball background. He ranks as a four-star prospect and No. 297 overall player in the country. His recruitment is expected to boil down to a battle between Miami and Michigan.

If Miami is able to land all three players, the Hurricanes would jump to No. 15 overall in the country of the 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings.

Five-star offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa is expected to make his commitment on July 4th. Mauigoa (6-5, 330) is the No. 9 overall prospect in the country and he plays at Bradenton IMG Academy. He is expected to choose between Miami, Florida, Alabama, USC, and Tennessee.

If Mauigoa commits to the Hurricanes, he would be the first five-star prospect to commit to Mario Cristobal at UM.
