MIAMI Chairman of the Board Fernando Arencibia Jr.

“Changes in government abroad, such as this month’s presidential election in Colombia, have often led to more investment in Miami, the capital of Latin America, as global buyers move to put their money in a secure place where it will appreciate”

Colombia posted the most global web searches for Miami homes in May 2022, according to a new report by the MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI). Colombia has now topped the list of foreign countries searching for Miami real estate for three consecutive months as South Florida continues to see surging global buyer demand with pandemic-related protocols relaxing and unstable political situations developing around the world.

“Changes in government abroad, such as this month’s presidential election in Colombia, have often led to more investment in Miami, the capital of Latin America, as global buyers move to put their money in a secure place where it will appreciate,” MIAMI Chairman of the Board Fernando Arencibia Jr. said. “Miami real estate has experienced more than 10 consecutive years of price appreciation.”

Colombia accounted for 12.34% of all international searches on MiamiRealtors.com in May 2022, an increase from the country’s 11.76% search total in April 2022. Homebuyers from more than 160 countries search MiamiRealtors.com each month.
