“South Florida by the numbers” is a web feature that catalogs the most notable, quirky and surprising real estate statistics.

Go big or go (bigger!)…home? While South Florida continues to experience a record-shattering residential real estate sales cycle over the past two years, not all listings are created equal, and some recent price and sales numbers have wowed even the most jaded of observers. From Palm Beach to Golden Beach to Coconut Grove, some ultra-luxury home sellers are seizing the moment and cashing out at what appears to be the apex of the market. Will we see some form of a correction in this sector, or will nine-figure deals become the new normal? We explore it in this edition of “South Florida by the numbers.”

$173 million

This sale broke Florida’s previous record of $122.7 million, set in 2021 for a Palm Beach mansion. [TheRealDeal]

$100 million

Current asking price of a Golden Beach oceanfront estate owned by Edith Newman, who lived there with her late husband, former electronics company owner Joel Newman. The property is directly on the sand with 250 feet of ocean frontage, a home theater, bowling alley, spa, gym, wine cellar and pool. [TheRealDeal]

$93 million

Total price of three conjoined Golden Beach homes purchased over the past year by InterSystems founder Phillip Ragon. Mr. Ragon purchased each home separately, and when combined, the estate will span a total of roughly 1.7 acres with about 275 feet of ocean frontage. The purchaser plans to raze all three residences and replace them with a new single-family home. [MansionGlobal]
