Maya Vander Reveals She’s Leaving Selling Sunset

Maya Vander shares that she won’t be returning for Selling Sunset season 6. The real estate agent will focus on her family and business in Miami.

Mayer Vander has been on the hit reality show Selling Sunset since season 1, and she revealed she won’t be returning for season 6. Maya quickly became a fan-favorite due to her quiet, confident nature and ability to stay out of drama with the other real estate agents. The mom of two juggled her busy schedule at The Oppenheim Group in Los Angeles with flying to Miami, where her husband, David Miller, and her children lived.

The real estate agent was noticeably absent from a lot of Selling Sunset season 3, which led fans to believe she wasn’t returning for another season. However, fans saw her back for season 4, during which she announced her pregnancy with her third child. Tragically, Maya announced that she had a stillbirth when she was 38 weeks pregnant with her son Mason. Six months later, the Selling Sunset star dealt with another loss when she suffered a miscarriage.

Maya recently revealed to Page Six that she decided not to renew her contract for Selling Sunset season 6. She shared that while she loved being on the show, she wants to focus on growing her career in the Miami real estate market. Maya added, “I want to focus on my family, and flying coast to coast is a lot. The show is great, and I love everyone, but looking forward to growing my business in South Florida.” Maya, who had been selling in the Los Angeles and Miami markets for years, is the first Selling Sunset star to branch out into starting her own firm.

Maya Vader Husband Selling Sunset

Maya has already transferred her real estate license from The Oppenheim Group to Compass, which is a Florida-based real estate company. The Selling Sunset star recently revealed that she started an all-female firm called The Maya Vander Group, which will be working under Compass after the transition. With Maya leaving the show and fellow star Christine Quinn possibly fired from The Oppenheim Group, Selling Sunset season 6 may very well get a cast shake-up.

While fans will miss watching Maya on Selling Sunset, her decision to leave is understandable. The agent has shared in the past that flying back and forth was wearing on her physically. After publicly going through two losses, the decision to stay in Miami seems to be the best option for Maya and her family moving forward. After five seasons, Selling Sunset still remains a huge hit with fans and has officially been renewed for seasons 6 and 7. The spin-off series Selling the OC, featuring The Oppenheim Group in Orange County, has already been filmed and is set to premiere on August 24.
