Here are the top stories today in Miami:

1. Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting that left one Miami-Dade man dead, multiple news outlets report. The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday night at an apartment complex along the 8000 block of Southwest 149th Avenue. (Miami Patch)

2. Residents of a Miami Beach apartment building were forced to evacuate after the building was deemed unsafe on Wednesday. At 2 p.m., they were told that they had until 7 p.m. to grab their things and get out until repairs are made. Although the cause of the structural issues is unclear, residents believe water damage may have been caused by heavy rain that hit the area last week. (WSVN)

3. Miami-Dade Police arrested two Miami International Airport cargo workers on Tuesday and accused them of stealing more than $21,000 worth of Apple electronics from cargo pallets headed to Chile. All of the electronics stolen were owned by DB Schenker, a logistics company. (WPLG Local 10)

4. Developers behind Miami Freedom Park have submitted revised renderings of the project to Miami planners. The project is expected to include a 25,000 seat Major League Soccer (MLS) stadium, a 600,000 square foot retail and soccer village, 400,000 square feet of office space, and more. (The Next Miami)

5. Thomas James of Miami, who was recently exonerated after being falsely imprisoned for 32 years for murder, has been unable to get compensation from the state of Florida. Under Florida law, those who have been exonerated can receive up to $2 million dollars in compensation, but there are restrictions and in the last five years, only one person has qualified for compensation, according to the Florida Attorney General’s Office.
