Miami Dade College to Illuminate Freedom Tower Purple for National Crime Victims’ Rights Week April 27

Miami, April 22, 2022 – Miami Dade College’s (MDC) National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower will be illuminated purple at sunset on Wednesday, April 27, for National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW).

Since 1981, NCVRW (April 24 – 30) has challenged the nation to confront and remove barriers to achieving justice for all victims of crime. During NCVRW, the accomplishments of the victims’ rights movement are reflected upon and celebrated.

The 2022 NCVRW theme is Rights, Access, and Equity for All Victims. The theme underscores the importance of helping crime survivors find justice by enforcing victims’ rights, expanding access to services, and ensuring equity and inclusion for all.  For more information, visit
