Miami’s Stitch Lab hosts pop-up, showcasing nearly 40 Latin designers

MIAMI – A Miami-based fashion project called Stitch Lab is hosting a pop-up showcasing nearly 40 Latin designers this weekend.

If you want to get the full on glam experience, designers will be on site to style you, and there will also be a celebrity hairstylist on hand.

But it’s only in town for the weekend.

“Designers from all over Latin America, especially Colombia, Mexico, Argentina, Ecuador,” said Stitch Lab founder Karina Rosendo.

Just in time for spring, the Miami-based fashion company is doing a pop-up filled with clothes and accessories that embodies that Miami flair.

Rosendo is sewing the gap between the American fashion industry and Latinx designers.

She’s doing that through Stitch Lab.

“Stich Lab is a launching platform and talent incubator that helps Latin American fashion designers enter the U.S. market,” she explained.

This weekend, they’re hosting a unique pop-up. It’s all happening at Paradise Plaza in Miami’s Design District, where they’ll be showcasing over 30 designers.

“We have amazing swimwear, most of it sustainable brands,” Rosendo said. “We have beautiful jewelry, handbags, shoes. Anything you want, we have it.”

Over the last five years, Stitch Lab has elevated more than 150 designers from Latin America and they have no plans on stopping now.

Rosendo gave Local 10 News a tour of the space before it transformed — vibrant colors, beautiful patterns — a little something for everyone tailor made to your style.

“You have a little bit of everything. Many of the designers work with a lot of artists. Some of the pieces are unique and one of a kind,” she said. “You’re going to see finally again night gowns. We’re going out again partying, so we’re dressing up again.”

The pop-up is all weekend long from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and it’s free to attend.
