Baseball Falls In Game Two At Miami
MIAMI – Miami scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh and posted a 6-3 victory over No. 13 North Carolina at Mark Light Field on Saturday, handing the Diamond Heels their first series loss of the season.
Carolina dropped to 18-5 overall and 5-3 in the ACC, while Miami improved to 16-6 and 6-2 in conference play.
Angel Zarate broke a 2-2 tied in sixth inning to put UNC on top with a base hit up the middle to score Vance Honeycutt, who had drawn a two-out walk. Reliever Kyle Mott then sat down the Hurricanes in order in the bottom of the frame.
The first five Hurricanes reached in the bottom of the seventh with four of them coming home to score. After Yohandy Morales tied the game with a single, Maxwell Romero knocked in two runs with double to put Miami ahead to stay.
Mott (5-1) suffered his first loss of the season, allowing four runs on five hits in two innings pitched. Alejandro Torres (2-0) was credited with the win as the Miami bullpen retired the final 10 Carolina batters in order.

• Johnny Castagnozzi hit his seventh home run of the season. He has homered in five of the last nine games, including the middle game of each of the first three ACC series.
