The Miami basketball team will play its first game in the 2022 ACC Tournament versus Boston College on Thursday afternoon. Thirteenth seed Boston College defeated number 12 Pittsburgh 66-46 in the first round on Tuesday. The Eagles had a surprising 82-77 overtime win over fifth seed Wake Forest on Friday.

Miami won 81-70 at Boston College last Wednesday in a game that was not that close. The Hurricanes led 40-25 at halftime and maintained a double-digit lead throughout the second half. Isaiah Wong had maybe his best game this year with a season-high 27 points and eight rebounds against the Eagles last week.

Jordan Miller had 18 and Sam Waardenburg 16. Makai Ashton-Langford led Boston College with 21.  Miami enters the ACC Tournament with wins in six of its last eight games. Boston College entered the ACC Tournament with three straight losses. Miami has not advanced to the ACC Tournament semifinals since 2016.

Miami enters the tournament with five straight road wins and is comfortable playing away from home. On Monday, guard Kameron McGusty was named first-team All-ACC and Wong earned third-team all-conference. BC had James Karnik earn votes for most improved player and Quinten Post votes for sixth man of the year.

A win by the Miami basketball team sets up a semifinal against either Duke or Syracuse. The Orange will be without first-team All-ACC player Buddy Boeheim. Boeheim punched Wyatt Wilkes of Florida State in the second round on Wednesday and was suspended for one game. Duke and Syracuse tipoff at Noon ET.
