Sales of Luxury Homes in Singapore Hit a New High

Luxury sector sales are on a roll as Singapore progressively reopens. In particular, deal volumes of high-end housing have hit a record high. Activity in the posh residential market—specifically, residential units priced above S$10 million(US$7.32 million)—has stayed buoyant this year and even outperformed sales of watches and jewelry, said the Institute of Real Estate and Urban Studies at the National University of Singapore. In its analysis, the institute considered only transactions of single units each fetching more than S$10 million. It omitted collective sales and transactions of multiple units. The Business Times

A 17,500-square-foot mansion in Detroit’s Rochester Hills formerly owned by rapper Eminem is back on the market for $3.23 million. Demand Surges in Australia’s Queensland as Border Reopens

Within hours of the Queensland Government announcing that the state border would reopen on Monday, interstate buyer searches for properties in Australia’s Sunshine State soared by 15%. The increased activity continued the day after the Dec. 6 announcement, albeit by just 3%, according to REA Group data. The renewed surge came after “a few days of decreasing searches,” according to REA analysts. realestate.com.au

U.A.E. Market Gets Boost by Increasing Demand for Villas and Townhouses

Rising demand for villas and townhouses is driving a rebound in the U.A.E.’s residential property market, according to a senior banking official. Spurred by trends including remote working and community-living, villas and townhouses are emerging as the preferred choice for residential property buyers, according to Cyril Lincoln, executive vice president at Mashreq Bank. The surge in demand is being driven by changing consumer needs when it comes to residential property purchase, he said.
