Pitt Drops Second Game at No. 4 Miami
MIAMI – Pitt baseball (21-16, 9-10) lost 17-2 to No. 4 Miami (31-8, 16-4) Saturday night at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field.
The Hurricanes grabbed the lead in the first inning with two runs following an error followed by a two-run homer.
Ron Washington, Jr. produced the game’s first run on a two-out solo homer to left field in the opening frame, his 10th of the season.
The Panthers’ second run came on a pinch-hit, RBI-double to left center from Cameron Barto with two outs in the ninth inning.
The series finale is Sunday at 1 p.m.
NOTES
- Logan Evans started and went three innings with four earned runs, six hits, no walks and one strikeout.
- Dom Popa went 3-3 with a double and two singles.
