Miami Marlins set to build ‘Miami Live!’ ballpark district

The Marlins have unveiled plans to build an “entertainment district” around loanDepot park in partnership with Baltimore-based developer Cordish Cos. Miami Live! will include “indoor and outdoor dining, entertainment and community programming designed to extend the fan experience at the ballpark.” Cordish Cos. has become known for creating “sports-anchored, mixed-use developments” and has formed partnerships with sports franchises and media companies including the St. Louis Cardinals, Texas Rangers, Flyers, Comcast Spectacor, Bally Sports, NBC Sports, Professional Bull Riders and Sporting KC. The company is behind Kansas City Live! and Bally Sports Live! at Ballpark Village in St. Louis (BALTIMORE SUN, 1/14).
