5/28/24 UPDATE: Miami Dolphins Orange Jersey Award TRACKER; Defense dominates again

The Miami Dolphins are on week two of organized team activities — once again under the blazing sun that South Florida provides in spades.

Another practice means another opportunity for a player to distinguish himself amongst his peers by being awarded the orange practice jersey award — an award given to the player who practiced best during the team’s last session.

Today’s winner was fourth year safety, Jevon Holland! This makes three of the four winners so far defensive players.

Holland made headlines last week when he took a not-so-subtle dig at former defensive coordinator, Vic Fangio, by saying the biggest difference between Fangio and new Dolphins defensive coordinator, Anthony Weaver, is that Weaver is a “good person.”

It looks like Holland not only enjoys Weaver as a person, but enjoys his scheme as well. If the orange jersey award is any indication, Holland is thriving during the early portions of the install period.

Holland hopes to get a new contract with the Dolphins, and if general manager Chris Grier would like to save a handful of pennies, he’d be smart to ink Holland’s name on the extension soon, otherwise the price will only go up. Of course, it takes two to tango, and Holland — plus his representation — would need to agree to any such deal.
