Woman struck, killed by vehicle on I-95 in Miami

MIAMI – A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle Wednesday morning in Miami.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Northwest Second Street.

Sky 10 was above the scene shortly before 7 a.m. as a tarp covered the victim’s body on the highway.

A white SUV was stopped in the shoulder lane and two people were seen sitting down next to it.

Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho confirmed that a woman was trying to cross the highway when she was struck by an oncoming Honda SUV.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Miami police confirmed they were assisting the FHP in the investigation.

Camacho said two travel lanes were flowing, as of 7:37 a.m.

No other details were immediately released.
