Miami Dolphins 2024 Draft Pick positions dissected on podcast
It’s been a bit since the Miami Dolphins have had a first round draft pick.
They lost their 2023 first round pick for tampering charges over attempts to acquire quarterback Tom Brady and coach Sean Payton in 2019. They also lost their 2024 third-round pick.
In 2022, they traded away their first-round pick, along with four other picks, to bring in Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs.
This year, the Dolphins have the 21st pick in the first round, a bit further down than most would like, but also a reflection that the team made the playoffs last year.
The Dolphins have many holes to fill.
Whether it be along the offensive line, where they lost star Christian Wilkins to free agency, to defensive end, where they have aging and injured players coming back this year.
In all, the Dolphins have six picks in this year’s NFL Draft.
They are as follows:
- Round 1: No. 21 overall
- Round 2: No. 55
- Round 5: No. 158
- Round 6: No. 184 (from Chicago)
- Round 6: No. 198
- Round 7: No. 241
Experts have the Dolphins’ biggest needs listed as guard, defensive tackle and wide receiver.
What does USA Today Florida Sports Network Dolphins expert Joe Schad think of this?
The longtime Palm Beach Post reporter joins “The *State* of Florida Sports Podcast to tell us what he thinks the Dolphins will do with their picks.
Joe’s had multiple mock drafts over the past few weeks, and it all comes to a head Thursday when the Draft begins just after 8 p.m.
Of course, the Dolphins likely won’t be picking until roughly 10 or 10:30.
Aside from the picks, Joe talks about the upcoming schedule, GM Chris Grier, QB Tua Tagovailoa and much more.
