Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami involved in ‘f*** up of the year’ in calamity-filled MLS clip
Inter Miami were involved in a calamity-filled MLS clip which somehow didn’t end in a goal for their opponents.
David Beckham’s team hosted Montreal in their fourth league game of the season on Sunday (March 10), looking to build on an unbeaten start of two wins and a draw.
However, they had to do so without Lionel Messi, who was rested after picking up a shin injury in their Champions Cup draw with Nashville three days prior – and it didn’t go well.

Just 11 minutes had passed when a long ball over the top by Montreal caused unnecessary carnage in the Miami backline. Goalkeeper Drake Callender came charging out of his box to head clear, only to completely misjudge the bounce and miss it.
Montreal striker Matias Coccaro raced in and briefly had an open goal to aim at on his left foot, but instead cut back onto his right. That allowed Miami time to recover and after multiple touches, his right-footed effort was ultimately blocked for a corner.
After the MLS social media account uploaded a video of the moment, it was quickly lambasted by fans online. One labelled it: “F*** up of the year.”

Another questioned: “What’s going on here.” A third argued: “These guys cant be professional footballers nah.” And a fourth joked: “These ones are playing football as side hustle coz what is this?”
A fifth commented: “Lmaoo what a funny league , how did they get FIFA’s accreditation????” And a sixth added: “I honestly didn’t have a clue what was going to happen here. MLS MADNESS.”
Just when Miami thought they were off the hook, Fernando Alvarez scored from the resulting set piece. Leonardo Campana levelled in the second half but Coccaro and Ibrahim Sunusi made it 3-1, and Jordi Alba’s late goal was just a consolation in their first defeat of the season.
