FSU football fans react to Rodney Hill committing to Miami Hurricanes
Former FSU football running back Rodney Hill has committed to the Miami Hurricanes after entering the transfer portal when the 2023 season concluded. Hill originally committed to FAMU after not finding any suitors, but FAMU head coach Willie Simmons left for a job at Duke under new coach Manny Diaz. Hill de-committed after that took place and will attend Miami as a walk-on. Life comes at you fast if you’re not careful. Hill went from having a scholarship at a program that finished No. 6 this season, to playing for a team that’s 13-12 over the past two years without a scholarship. That team has also lost to FSU football for the past three consecutive years. FSU fans didn’t necessarily care for how Rodney Hill left the program. He reportedly got bad advice and asked for way more money than he should have, considering how much he played and the lack of production.

Final Thoughts
It’s obvious it’s personal for Rodney Hill if he’s willing to walk-on at a rival, or he absolutely had no other options to play. FSU has Lawrance Toafili returning in 2024, Caziah Holmes, and a proven guy from the transfer portal in Alabama’s Roydell Williams. They also have former blue-chip Sam Singleton and blue-chip freshman Kameron Davis waiting in the wings, which is likely another reason FSU felt no pressure to retain Hill on the roster. Miami struggled to run the ball against FSU last year, and we’ll see how much Hill gets on the field for them. The last guy, Matthew Cleveland, who left FSU for Miami, tasted defeat earlier this week. I don’t see this one turning out any different. FSU will learn their ACC schedule in a few days, so we’ll find out soon how long it’ll take for this to play out.
