Two of three teams in the AFC that have already clinched a playoff spot, despite having yet to clinch their respective divisions, a win for either side can shift how the seeding looks come the postseason.

The Ravens currently hold the best record in the NFL, but are just one game ahead of the Dolphins. Since losing an AFC North rival, the Cleveland Browns, in Week 10, Baltimore has reeled off five wins in a row, only one game coming by single digits. They are currently 1.5 games ahead of the Browns in the race for the North, with a win not just securing a division title, but also the No. 1 seed in the AFC, two things that have not happened since 2019.

The Dolphins will do everything they can to avoid that from happening. While they have sat atop the AFC East for most of the season, they have rarely had a good showing against the league’s best. That changed last Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys, when Miami squeaked out a 22-20 win, their first win over a team with an above .500 record. They can also clinch their first division title since 2008 with a win, as they are two games ahead of the Buffalo Bills in the race for the East.

This is the second week in a row where the Ravens have played in a heavyweight matchup. On Christmas Night, Baltimore picked off Brock Purdy four times in a 33-19 win over the San Francisco 49ers.

Baltimore is 10-8 against Miami, though the Dolphins pulled out a wild 42-38 win last season.
