New York Jets at Miami Dolphins: Game predictions, picks, odds
NFL Week 14 Overreactions
Sports Seriously’s Mackenzie Salmon breaks down games from NFL Week 14.
The Miami Dolphins (9-4) hope to further their chances of the No. 1 seed in the playoffs as they host the New York Jets (5-8) in Week 15 at Hard Rock Stadium.
The Dolphins were upset by the Tennessee Titans on Monday night 28-27 for their first home loss of the season. Tua Tagovailoa threw for 240 yards and it was the first game this season he didn’t score a touchdown. Tyreek Hill hurt his ankle in the matchup. He returned to play but said he was in pain.
The Jets upset the Houston Texans 30-6 to snap a five-game losing streak. Zach Wilson returned to his role as starting quarterback and went 27-of-36 for 301 yards and two touchdowns. New York’s defense held rookie sensation CJ Stroud to a season-low 91 yards and kept Houston out of the end zone.
The Dolphins won the first matchup 34-13 over the Jets this season at MetLife Stadium. Tim Boyle was at quarterback for New York. He and Tagovailoa each threw two interceptions, but Raheem Mostert had two rushing touchdowns and Hill and Jaylen Waddle each had 100-yard receiving games.

Lorenzo Reyes: Dolphins 23, Jets 17
No team had a worse Week 14 than the Dolphins, who lost their claim to the AFC’s No. 1 seed and blew a 14-point lead inside the final two minutes to a team they were favored to beat. Miami should bounce back. Yes, the Jets were very good against Houston, but that might be more the exception than the norm. All that said, this line is still a bit too high. And Tyreek Hill’s injury could be a cause for concern.
Tyler Dragon: Dolphins 27, Jets 20
The Dolphins last week became the first team in NFL history to lose despite being up 14 points with less than three minutes remaining in regulation. Miami still has the top total offense in the league and averages the most points in the AFC. The Jets won’t be able to score enough points to keep pace with the Dolphins, but Tyreek Hill’s ankle injury is something to monitor.
Safid Deen: Dolphins 24, Jets 14
Zach Wilson is coming off the best game of his career, while the Dolphins are coming off a blunder on Monday Night Football. The Dolphins need to show they can operate without depending solely on Tyreek Hill and should beat Wilson and the Jets at home.
Victoria Hernandez: Dolphins 28, Jets 15
The Dolphins were exposed last week as they were handed their first home loss of the season. They will be hungry to show they are worthy of the No. 1 seed in the AFC against a Jets team that had a shocking win last week but simply doesn’t have the tools to keep up.
Jordan Mendoza: Dolphins 30, Jets 13
Tyreek Hill will be the player to watch in this one. Miami looked out of sync on Monday, and they’ll need their playmaker on the field in the race to the No. 1 seed. However, Miami trounced New York in the first meeting, and it’ll be more of the same this time around.
