Miami (Ohio)’s Chuck Martin is On3 Group of Five head coach of the week

Each week, On3 selects national head coaches of the week.

Our Group of Five head coach of the week for Week 9 is Miami (Ohio)’s Chuck Martin.

Despite being without injured starting QB Brett Gabbert, The RedHawks improved to 7-2 with a 30-16 road win over 6-2 Ohio.

Miami led 13-9 at halftime and then scored the first 17 points of the second half in building a 30-9 lead by the early point of the fourth quarter.

“They came in and made more plays than we did and had a great plan with where they are at quarterback with Brett not making the trip,” Ohio head coach Tim Albin said. “Their ability to to keep the ball in the second half and get a running game going. I thought their running back was probably the best we’ve seen all year.”
