Bicyclist airlifted after car crash near a Miami-area marina

A Miami-Dade County Fire Rescue helicopter ambulance made a landing in the parking lot of the busy Black Point Marina parking lot in Homestead early Monday night.

Once on the ground, medics unloaded a male patient from the back of an awaiting ambulance and placed him in the helicopter.

A firefighter on the ground and the department’s dispatch center confirmed said the injured man was a bicyclist hit by a car.

Once on board the chopper, it lifted off and flew the man to a hospital, where his condition remains unknown.
