Gas price down in Florida and Miami for Memorial Day
Gas prices continue to slide in Florida and the Miami area. And drivers might be paying more attention to that as they plan to hit the road for Memorial Day weekend.
Here’s what to know about prices:
Gas in South Florida
▪ Miami-Dade: The average price: $3.51 a gallon, down about 6 cents a gallon from last week, according to AAA.

Florida price at the pump
Average: The average price for a gallon of gas in Florida on Monday, according to AAA, was $3.40, down about 8 cents a gallon.
Gas prices around Florida
West Palm Beach/Boca Raton: $3.66 a gallon
Naples: $3.55
Panama City: $3.14
Pensacola: $3.22
U.S. price at the pump
Average: The average price for a gallon of gas across the country on Monday, according to AAA, was $3.54, the same as last week.
What the experts are saying
Mark Jenkins, AAA spokesman: “It’s looking like Florida drivers will spend a dollar per gallon less for gasoline than they did last Memorial Day weekend,” said AAA spokesman Mark Jenkins. “The state average should trickle even lower this week. However, even if pump prices do suddenly rise this week, it’s unlikely it’d be by a large enough margin that Floridians would change their plans, since most travel plans have already been finalized by now.”
