Real-Estate Power Brokers List Miami Beach Home for $31.5 Million

The sellers are top real-estate agents Oren and Tal Alexander as well as their brother, Alon Alexander, who works in the security business. The Alexanders bought the land for $3.42 million in 2014 as an investment. They razed an older home on the site and worked with their father, Miami developer Shlomy Alexander, on the construction of the new home, where Oren Alexander now lives, he said.

With Florida keystone on the facade, the estate’s design was inspired by the classic Spanish-style homes of the architect Addison Mizner, whose Mediterranean aesthetic came to define Palm Beach in the 1920s, Oren Alexander said. The goal was to take that style and adapt it for modern-day living, he said, with an open floor plan, 12-foot ceilings and large windows. 

He said he is pleased when people ask when he renovated the home, as opposed to when he built it. “It feels like it belongs there,” said Mr. Alexander, who is also the listing agent for the home.

Completed about four years ago, the property is currently configured with eight bedrooms, but other rooms, such as a library and office, could be repurposed to make it nine or 10, Mr. Alexander said. In the main house, a grand living room with travertine floors leads out to the pool area. A “show kitchen,” which is used for basic cooking, has a coffee maker, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher and stove top. A larger, adjacent kitchen is used for serious cooking, or when “you don’t want to smell the cooking or disrupt the entertaining,” he said. The outdoor dining area also has a wood-burning grill.

The primary suite includes a living room, where Mr. Alexander said he sometimes watches sports while his fiancée, Kamila Hansen, is getting ready. 

The primary bathroom is one of Mr. Alexander’s favorite spaces in the house, he said, with double shower heads, a rain shower, a speaker system and a heated spa bench. 

The house is being sold fully furnished. A porte-cochere has parking for about 15 cars. 

Mr. Alexander said he was drawn to the site for its waterfront location and proximity to a pedestrian bridge a few blocks away, which leads directly to the ocean. He said he and his brothers are selling the house because he has another project nearby that is almost completed, and he plans to move in there instead. Tal Alexander lives in New York, while Alon Alexander has his own house, he said.

Mr. Alexander said their team has sold close to $3 billion in real estate across the country in the last two years. Their top deals include the 2019 sale of Manhattan penthouse for roughly $238 million to billionaire hedge funder

which holds the record for the most expensive sale in U.S. history. In Miami, they have sold the penthouses at prominent condo buildings such as Faena House and Arte. Last year, they sold an under-construction spec mansion in Coconut Grove for $65 million. 

Activity in the Miami market has slowed from its pandemic highs. The number of Miami Beach home sales fell 54.5% in the third quarter from the same period last year, though the median sales price was up 17.9%, according to data from appraisal firm Miller Samuel.
