Bryant faces FIU on Saturday night in Miami


SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men’s basketball team continues its Florida trip on Saturday night when it faces Florida International in Miami. Tip is set for 7:00 p.m.

Saturday’s game will be streamed on ESPN+.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Florida International are meeting for the first time in program history. 

NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
Thursday’s game at FAU is the second of six games Bryant will play against teams that are either ranked in the mid-major top 25 or are in the top 100 according to kenpom.com. The Bulldogs will also face Syracuse, Cincinnati, Tulane, Liberty and Towson.

PRIDE REACHES 600
Charles Pride reached another milestone on Thursday at FAU, becoming just the third player in DI program history and only the 11th in program history to reach 600 career rebounds. Pride joins Alex Francis and Dan Garvin at the DI level. In addition, Pride and Francis are the only players in DI program history with 1,000+ points and 600+ rebounds.                  

FIVE MORE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Pride is averaging 19.0 ppg and 9.7 rpg this season. He enters Saturday night with 1,162 points, 11 shy of tying Frankie Dobbs for fourth in DI program history. 
  2. Sherif Gross-Bullock is averaging 20.7 ppg on the season and has scored in double figures in all three games so far this season. He’s also averaging 4.0 apg and 4.0 rpg.
  3. Earl Timberlake posted his third-straight game in double figures and also grabbed eight rebounds on Thursday at FAU.  
  4. Antwan Walker scored a season-high 13 points on Saturday at FAU. His season high last year was 17 in the A-10 First Round vs Duquesne.       
  5. Saturday will mark Bryant’s second game at FIU this year. The Bulldog football team opened their season at FIU in August, falling 38-37 in overtime.
