MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Florida State faces Miami at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla. It marks the seventh night game in 2022 for the Seminoles. The game between the Seminoles and the Hurricanes will be shown nationally on ABC. It marks the third time this season the Seminoles have been in the primetime slot for ABC. The Seminoles, led by head coach Mike Norvell, enter the game with a 5-3 record on the season, including a 3-3 mark against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. FSU started 4-0 on the season, lost three in a row, and won last week at home against Georgia Tech coming off of their second bye week of the season.
The Hurricanes, led by their first-year head coach Mario Cristobal, enters the game with a 4-4 record on the season, including a 2-2 mark against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents. UM started the season by winning their first two contests, but then dropped their next three. They have won two of their last three, including last Thursday at Virginia.
FSU won the most recent meeting between the two teams in Tallahassee last season. It marked the first time that Norvell guided his team against the Hurricanes, as he missed the 2020 meeting (which FSU lost at Miami) due to COVID. Miami leads the overall series, 35-31. FSU has a 20-18 advantage at Miami. FSU last won at Miami in 2016.
