What We Know About The Miami Dolphins Quarterback
One week after posting the best game of his career, Miami Dolphins Tua Tagovailoa is dealing with a potential head injury. Tagovailoa left Sunday’s game after taking a late hit from Buffalo Bills linebacker Matt Milano. His head banged off the turf and he had trouble standing up, so he’ll presumably be checked for a concussion. Tua is currently questionable to return.

Milano was flagged for a penalty on the play, and Tagovailoa was quickly taken to the Dolphins’ locker room. Backup quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has taken over under center for Miami.
In Week 2, Tagovailoa threw for an astounding 469 yards and six touchdowns while leading a furious comeback against the Ravens. Along with Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and head coach Mike McDaniel, Tua has helped turn Miami’s offense into one of the more dangerous units in the NFL.
If Tagovailoa has a concussion, it could put his availability for Week 4 in question. The Dolphins are facing a short week as they’ll play the Bengals on Thursday Night Football. That’s a quick turnaround for a player dealing with a head injury.
At 2-0, Miami has quickly established itself as an AFC contender. But they could be without Tua for the rest of a critical divisional game against the Bills, plus an intraconference game against Cincinnati.
We’ll see if Tua can return for the second half of today’s game, but if not, Bridgewater will lead the offense. The 29-year-old signed a one-year, fully guaranteed deal worth $6.5 million this offseason, and he’s viewed as one of the best backup quarterbacks in the league.
Last year, Bridgewater started 14 games for the Broncos, completing 66.9% of his passes for 3,052 yards, 18 touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Bridgewater often displays solid touch on his passes and awareness in the pocket, but he hasn’t shown the deep-ball ability that Tua has this season.
