Bentley Residences Miami Is A 61-Story Apartment Complex With An Elevator For Your Car
Live in a luxury apartment complex, but fed up with having to leave your car in the parking lot with everyone else’s? Bentley understands your concern, so is fitting a car elevator to its 61-story Miami tower.
Announced in April 2021 and called Bentley Residences, the building is due to be completed in 2026, when it will become the tallest beachfront residential tower in Miami, measuring 749 feet (228 meters).
Every apartment will have access to a car elevator system, which is known as the Dezervator in a nod to the British car maker’s construction partner Dezer Developments.
Instead of parking in the basement and taking a regular elevator to their apartment, residents will drive into one of four Dezervators at ground level.
The elevator recognizes who they are via RFID tags on the vehicle, directs them to the correct elevator for their floor using dynamic lighting, and uses a hydraulic system to pinch the car by its tires to hold it in place. The owner is then transported, in their car, to the right apartment, where a turntable spins to direct them to an available space in their garage. All of this is done without leaving the car, and without pressing any buttons.
Each apartment has space for three or four vehicles, depending on the layout and configuration of the unit – and because we’re talking about Bentley-sized spaces, that means up to 1,552 square feet of parking for each residence.
As Bentley now offers a range of hybrid cars, including the Flying Spur Hybrid, and with its first all-electric vehicle coming in 2025, EV chargers are available as an optional extra.
Bentley describes the system as a “unique experience,” adding: “The lower floors of the elevator shaft [are] enclosed by glass, offering a full panoramic view of the communal areas of the building.”
Visitors won’t get to use the car elevators, so instead the building will include parking in the basement, complete with fast-charging facilities for EVs and hybrids.
Although the tower won’t be completed until 2026, prospective buyers are invited to try out a 6,000 square foot model unit in Sunny Isles Beach, Miami, complete with Italian furnishings from Bentley Home. Tours are also available in virtual reality, showing the apartments and communal spaces, and demonstrating what arriving by car and using the elevator will look like.
Communal facilities of Bentley Residences Miami include a cinema, games room, wellness center and spa, plus a whisky bar, cigar lounge, restaurant and lobby. Apartment prices start from $4.2 million.
