How to Watch the New York Red Bulls vs. Cincinnati FC – MLS (8/20/22) | Channel, Stream, Preview
Two clubs fighting for playoff position in Major League Soccer’s Eastern Conference meet up Saturday evening in the Garden State, as the New York Red Bulls get set to host Cincinnati FC.
The Red Bulls come into the weekend sitting in the fourth and final first round bye spot in the Eastern Conference. This comes after New York was able to squeak out a 2-1 win, on the road, against Atlanta United on Wednesday. That ended a three-match winless skid in regular season play for the Red Bulls, but sit eight points back of the conference-leading Philadelphia Union, and two back of the third-placed New York City FC. Since the start of July, NY is just 3-3-3. Red Bull Arena has also not been as friendly to the home side, as the Red Bulls are just 3-5-4 at home this season. Lewis Morgan has been the team’s fire starter in 2022, as he is tied for 11th in goals with 11.
Cincinnati is one of nine clubs that are battling for the final three playoff positions in the East. Prior to Saturday’s game, they are tied with Orlando City and Inter Miami for sixth. All three are just one point back of the fifth-place Columbus Crew. They are unbeaten in their previous four matches, coming up with a draw last Saturday against Atlanta, with a big win over Philadelphia the week before that. They possess one of the MLS’ most lethal scorers this season, as Brandon Vazquez is tied for second in the league with 15 goals thus far.
These teams met in Cincinnati earlier last month, with Cincy able to salvage a 1-1 draw, despite playing with men for most of the second half.
