The Miami Heat did not have an All-Star in the 2020-21 NBA season. With several key players persistently missing time throughout the start of the 2021-22 season, the Heat may be in danger of not sending an All-Star representative for the second straight season.

In most normal seasons, multiple All-Stars come from teams towards the top of each Conference’s standings. This is not a normal season though.

The NBA’s Health and Safety Protocols have wrecked nearly every team at one point or another. This means that there are only a handful of players who have appeared in a substantial amount of games at this point in the season, which makes selecting All-Stars even harder than before.

With so many of the league’s former All-Stars missing time, Jimmy Butler, Kyle Lowry, and Tyler Herro all still have a chance to make it to All-Star Weekend. While Butler (5) and Lowry (6) have made multiple All-Star teams, Herro has yet to receive the honor.
