Kevin Durant Wants Sun… Miami’s Or Phoenix’s
The Miami Heat are certainly sitting back with a big smile on their face. Though they stand the chance to lose P.J. Tucker and Victor Oladipo in free agency, the Miami Heat will always be diligent when it comes to their roster and competing.
On the heels of the rumor mill churning out name after name over the last few days, it was thought that all was well in Brooklyn. With Kyrie Irving deciding to opt into the final year of his current deal, it was believed that no one would leave the borough.
Well, that was until the entire NBA landscape was rocked by the following news. Here it is.
That’s not even half of it though. Not only has Kevin Durant requested a trade, but the rabbit hole gets even deeper.
He is said to already have preferred destinations in his sights. And of course, if we are here to discuss it, you already know what that means.
The Miami Heat find themselves right in the middle of the hottest NBA rumor again. This time, Kevin Durant definitely wants out of Brooklyn though.
Here is another report from Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer that tells the happy tale for the Miami Heat faithful.
On Monday, as the league prepared for Kevin Durant to potentially request a trade during the Kyrie opt-in saga, Phoenix and Miami were often mentioned as the All-Star’s perceived favorite landing spots.
With four years remaining on his current deal, every team in the NBA is bound to be after the electric scorer. He is one of the top three players in the game right now.
When it comes to what it might take to land him, it will surely be a boatload. As far as the Miami Heat go, they’ll have to get nifty to get it done but if anyone can, it’s Pat Riley and his crew of brainiacs over there.
This is the second-best time of the entire NBA year. First, there are the NBA Playoffs, but then there is this—NBA Free Agency.
Things are getting pretty wild. Let’s just hope the Miami Heat can get in on some of the actual action.
