The King of Jordan’s $70 Million Properties in Malibu, California, Revealed

Jordan’s King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein secretly spent $70 million on neighboring Malibu, California, properties through separate shell companies, according to files dubbed the Pandora Papers, released Sunday. His Malibu holdings include a seven-bedroom home in the Point Dume peninsula he acquired in 2014 through a shell company for $33.5 million. Two neighboring properties were subsequently purchased for $12.2 million and $23 million, respectively. King Abdullah, whose real estate portfolio across the U.S. is valued more than $100 million, denied Monday any impropriety in his purchase of luxury homes abroad, citing security concerns.
