Miami-Dade deputies seek information about shooting that killed man, 21, in West Perrine

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 21‑year‑old man was shot and killed this past Saturday night in the West Perrine neighborhood, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said Kenneth Walters Jr., was found with multiple gunshot wounds around 9:57 p.m. in the area of Homestead Avenue and West Guava Street.

Deputies said they responded to a ShotSpotter alert in the neighborhood and discovered Walters suffering from his injuries.

They said he was transported by Miami‑Dade Fire Rescue to Jackson South Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died.

Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact MDSO Homicide Detective V. Maduro at 305-471‑2400 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.

Not other details about a possible motive or suspect were immediately released.
