Thunderstorms aid battle against massive Big Cypress wildfire, now at 35,000 acres

Evening storms brought over half an inch of rain to the southern areas of the Big Cypress National wildfire, offering much-needed relief to firefighters. Despite the help, the Collier County blaze has now spread to 35,000 acres and remains a significant challenge for containment efforts.
