Seventh-Seeded Miami To Open NCHC Frozen Faceoff in Denver
For the first time, the NCHC will hold the entire Frozen Faceoff on campus sites this year. After next weekend’s quarterfinals, the winning teams will be re-seeded. The single-game semifinals will be held on Saturday, March 14 as the two highest remaining seeds host the other two quarterfinal winners. The championship game will then be the following Saturday, March 21 at the highest remaining seed. The winner will hoist the newly-named National Cup and receive an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Miami enters the postseason with a record of 18-14-2 (9-13-2 NCHC), the most wins the RedHawks have produced in a single season since 2015 (which was the last time the Red and White won the Frozen Faceoff and advanced to the NCAA Tournament). This is Miami’s highest seed in the NCHC Tournament since 2020.
The series in Denver will be broadcast on NCHC.tv, with audio coverage on MiamiRedHawks.com. Tickets to the games at Magness Arena will be available for purchase from the host institution.
