Man arrested following road rage shooting in North Miami
NORTH MIAMI, Fla. — A man was arrested Monday following a road rage shooting in North Miami, authorities confirmed.
According to an arrest report from the North Miami Police Department, the shooting was reported at about 11:30 a.m. in the area of Northeast 125th Street and 10th Avenue.
Police said the suspect, Alex Felizor, 39, of North Miami, forced the victim out of a lane, into oncoming traffic.
As the victim tried to re-enter the lane, Felizor fired several rounds toward the victim’s vehicle, one of which exited from his own front windshield, authorities said.
Police said a black handgun was located in Felizor’s front right pocket and a spent casing was found on the driver’s seat.
According to the arrest report, the victim’s vehicle had three bullet holes throughout the passenger side and a bullet ricochet indentation on the passenger-side rear upper panel.
Police said the victim showed them cellphone video of Felizor approaching him immediately after the shooting.
According to the report, Felizor crashed his vehicle during the course of the shooting.
He invoked his rights when officers asked him about the shooting, the report stated.
Felizor was arrested on a charge of shooting a deadly missile.
As of Tuesday morning, he was being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Online jail records listed his bond as “to be set.”
