(RV) Miami to Wrap Up Regular Season in Omaha


(RV) Miami heads to Omaha for the final two games of the regular season this week. The RedHawks are 17-13-2, 8-12-2 NCHC after a pair of home losses to No. 9 Minnesota Duluth. The Mavericks split at Arizona State (4-2 win and 6-3 loss) and own a 11-21-0 record (7-15-0 NCHC). Miami is looking to clinch a spot in the eight-team NCHC Frozen Faceoff and can finish anywhere from fifth to ninth place in the final conference standings; the RedHawks haven’t finished higher than seventh since 2015-16 (fifth).

This week’s games at Baxter Arena in Omaha, Neb. are set for Friday, Feb. 27 and Saturday, Feb. 28, with puck drop scheduled for 8 p.m. ET both nights. The games will be broadcast on NCHC.tv, with Greg Waddell’s audio broadcast streaming on MiamiRedHawks.com.

Kocha Delic (11-12-23) leads Miami in points, while David Deputy (15-6-21) tops the RedHawks in goals and Vladislav Lukashevich (2-16-18) has a team-high 16 assists. The RedHawks have benefited from balanced scoring all season, with 10 different players that have at least 17 points. Matteo Drobac has started all but one game in net and is 16-13-2 with a 2.64 GAA and .913 save %.

Blake Mesenburg and head coach Anthony Noreen met with the media this week to preview the games against the Mavericks, talk about Mesenburg being named a national finalist for the Team IMPACT Teammate of the Year award, and more.
