The Men’s Other Top 25: Miami (OH) moves up to No. 1, Saint Louis slides to two
There’s a new No. 1 team in the Men’s Other Top 25, and it’s the undefeated Miami (OH) RedHawks. Travis Steele’s team is 27-0 and is the only unbeaten team in the country. They received four of the five votes for No. 1.
Miami is 48 in the NET, 76 in BartTovik and 84 in KenPom.
Saint Louis, who was the top-ranked team the last five weeks, dropped to No. 2 following a loss at Rhode Island. The Billikens responded with a win over VCU Friday night. They claimed the other first-place vote.
SLU is 22 in Torvik and the NET and 24in KenPom.
The RedHawks and Billikens are both top five in scoring offense as Miami is second at 92.3 points per game and Saint Louis is fifth at 90.1.
Saint Mary’s and Utah St. flip-flopped in third and fourth with the Gaels moving up one spot to No. 3. New Mexico rounded out the top five. Belmont and Santa Clara tied for sixth as San Diego St. slid behind them to eight.
Stehpen F. Austin was the big mover this week. SFA was the only team to join the top 10 as it moved up seven spots to No. 9. The Lumberjacks have won 13 games in a row to move to 18-1 in the Southland and 25-3 overall. The SLC has two teams ranked this week with McNeese St. coming in at 17.
VCU finished the top 10 as the Rams slid four spots to No. 10. The Rams fell to Saint Louis Friday. They are second in the conference with a 12-3 mark.
Four teams joined the ranking this week: Austin Peay (T-20), Dayton (T-22), North Dakota St. (24) and Northern Colorado (25). They replaced Goerge Mason, Winthrop, UC Irvine and Murray St.
