Armed carjacking in Miami leads to arrest, police say



An investigation is underway in Miami after police said an armed carjacking took place early Thursday morning.

Miami police told CBS News Miami that they responded to the area of northwest 5th Avenue and 30th Street just before 1L30 a.m. to investigate reports of the armed carjacking.

Police said that when units arrived at the scene, two victims said they were approached by a man with a gun, who then took their Corvette.

Those two victims were not injured.

A short time later, police said the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office located the vehicle and detained the suspect in the area of northwest 42nd Avenue and 183rd Street.

Miami police said they also responded to the scene and took custody of the unidentified suspect.
