Miami-Dade man arrested in sexual assault, human trafficking investigations, deputies say

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A southwest Miami-Dade man has been arrested in connection with multiple sexual assault cases and a human trafficking investigation involving separate victims, authorities confirmed Tuesday.

Marcus Johnson, 45, was taken into custody Monday following two investigations that stem from incidents reported in January and November 2025, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

In the first case, deputies responded around 5 p.m. on Jan. 21 to the 15300 block of Southwest 103 Place after receiving a report of a woman who had been pushed from a vehicle.

According to the arrest report, the victim told investigators she had been sleeping inside Johnson’s vehicle while he was at work in North Miami Beach.

The report stated that Johnson became violent while driving, striking her in the face and head after she “refused to engage in sexual activity with others to make him money.”

Deputies said the victim told them that Johnson prevented her from leaving the vehicle and pulled her back inside when she attempted to jump out.

At one point, she said Johnson climbed into the back seat and choked her, “restricting her airway where she could not breathe,” according to the report.

Authorities said Johnson later pushed the victim out of the vehicle and fled the scene.

They said the victim also reported that Johnson was armed with a knife and had a “larger butcher-style knife” inside the vehicle. She later identified Johnson in a photo lineup.

Johnson was later located at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building during a court hearing for an unrelated case and taken into custody. In that case, he faces charges including kidnapping with aggravated battery with a weapon, battery by strangulation and battery.

In a separate investigation, Johnson is also accused of trafficking a teenage girl and exploiting her for commercial sex.

According to investigators, the victim told detectives she was 16 years old when she met Johnson while she was a runaway.

They said Johnson initially provided her with food and shelter before sexually assaulting her and later pressuring her into sex acts in exchange for money and items.

The report states that after the victim confessed to being 16 years old. Johnson said “you know I can go to prison for that s—.”

The victim told authorities that she traveled with Johnson to multiple states and later stayed with him at a Motel 6 in Cutler Bay, where he allegedly arranged sex dates with adult men and kept all the money, according to the report.

Investigators said the victim became emotional when shown a photograph of Johnson and identified him.

In that case, records show Johnson is facing charges including human trafficking of a minor, deriving support from prostitution, unlawful sexual activity with a specified minor and attempted battery.

As of Tuesday, he is being held without bond in at least three cases at the Metrowest Detention Center.
