STEM Meets Speed: Miami-Dade County Students Gear Up for Formula E with Exclusive Tour

Students from six Miami-Dade County high schools interested in STEM careers are headed to the Miami International Autodrome for a behind the scenes look at Formula E.

Ahead of the 2026 Miami E-Prix, students will see race preparations firsthand and explore educational activities at the track such as a pit lane walk, garage tours and racing simulators.

All of the attending schools have an FPL-sponsored Electrathon team.

FPL believes Electrathon fosters creativity and promotes future careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields as students learn to build their own electric cars from scratch – encouraging teamwork, problem solving and critical thinking.

Participating schools include:

Hialeah Gardens High School
Miami Lakes Educational Center
South Dade Senior High School
TERRA Environmental Research Institute
Miami Carol City Senior High School.
This is the second year FPL has partnered with Formula E to offer students a unique STEM experience during the Miami E-Prix.
