Passengers Stranded on Tarmac as Miami Airport Faces Security Threat


Travelers were evacuated from Miami International Airport on Sunday, January 25, after a “suspicious item” was found in the airport’s South Terminal.

Footage from Detaxify shows passengers disembarking a Swiss International Air Lines flight traveling from Zurich to Miami, and waiting on the tarmac as the South Terminal was under evacuation.

According to reports citing Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, part of the airport was evacuated over the discovery of unattended luggage.

Miami International Airport said security checkpoints for concourses G, H, and J, as well as surrounding areas, were evacuated and temporarily closed as the sheriff department investigated the incident.
