Miami Dade College Offers Free Tax Preparation Services Feb. 4 – April 15
Miami, Jan. 26, 2026 – Miami Dade College (MDC) will once again provide free tax preparation services to eligible individuals through the Internal Revenue Service’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Services will be available from February 4 through April 15 at six MDC campuses across Miami-Dade County.
The program is open to individuals who earned $67,000 or less in 2025. Trained and IRS-certified volunteers will assist taxpayers with the preparation and electronic filing of their federal income tax returns at no cost.
“The 2025 tax season brings important updates that can be challenging to understand without guidance. Our School is proud to respond by once again mobilizing our accounting faculty, staff, and students through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, combining real-world learning with meaningful service that directly benefits our community,” said Pamela Fuertes, dean of the Miguel B. Fernandez Family School of Global Business, Trade & Transportation at Miami Dade College.

The VITA program originated at the Wolfson Campus and was later extended to other campuses. Students are trained to prepare free individual income tax returns for fellow students, their families and the general public. They are supervised by professors and experienced coordinators from MDC’s Miguel B. Fernandez School of Global Business, Trade and Transportation, who review the returns before filing them electronically with the IRS. For more information, visit www.mdc.edu/vita.
