3-year-old girl dies after drowning in pool at southwest Miami-Dade rental home
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. — A 3-year-old girl drowned early Saturday morning inside a pool at a home near the 11000 block of Southwest 132nd Avenue in southwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.

Deputies with the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office said they responded to a reported near-drowning just before 6 a.m.
When they arrived, deputies said the girl had already been pulled from the pool, and life-saving measures were underway. She was rushed to HCA Florida Kendall Hospital in critical condition, where she later died.
Preliminary information indicates that family members were sleeping at the time of the incident and that the child accidentally fell into the pool. Authorities said the home is a short-term rental where the family was staying.
They said the investigation is ongoing and urged residents with pools to exercise caution and closely supervise children.
The girl’s identity wasn’t immediately released.
