Former Ohio State football player mixing it up with Miami fans on social media
The Ohio State football team gets to play in the Cotton Bowl in a week. They have had plenty of time to prepare for this game, even before finding out that they will take on Miami. The Buckeyes were able to get a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff, unlike last season.
Heading into the game, the Ohio State Buckeyes are very mad that they lost to Indiana in the Big Ten Championship. Ryan Day made sure to let everyone know that his team is mad heading into this matchup with the Hurricanes, which could mean some bad things for Miami.
That hasn’t stopped Miami fans from talking all kinds of smack on social media. They believe that their defense will be the best Ohio State has seen, despite the fact that the Hoosiers have a better one. One former Ohio State football player isn’t having it.
Former Ohio State football player Johnny Dixon mixes it up with Miami fans on social media
Former Buckeye receiver Johnny Dixon is making sure that fans on social media know how dumb they sound. He hasn’t been afraid to mix it up with some fans before the game.
I’m seeing a lot of Miami fans on twitter why they never at the home games ????
— Johnnie L. Dixon III (@YoungKing_JD5) December 23, 2025
That post certainly did not sit well with Miami fans, with plenty of fans coming after him after that post. Dixon is right to point that out; Miami home games are not well attended. Part of that is because the stadium is not on campus. It’s not easy to get to Hard Rock Stadium.
It’s fun to see a former Buckeye engage in a little smack talk before the CFP begins. Current receiver Jeremiah Smith will be ready to go against his hometown team. The defense should have a great game plan against Carson Beck. It should be a fun game for Ohio State football fans.
Miami fans are still scarred from what happened back in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl. Ohio State is hoping to give them the same result.
