Will the Aggies win the CFP?
For the first-round clash in College Station, the Aggies (11-1, 7-1 SEC) are favored by 3½ points over the Hurricanes (10-2, 6-2 ACC).
The Aggies missed the SEC championship after losing to Texas Nov. 28 for their sole loss of what was a flawless season. Now, No. 7 A&M will face No. 10 Miami at 11 a.m. Dec. 20 at Kyle Field. The winner will play Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl.
The Hurricanes had an impressive season that opened with a 27-24 win over Notre Dame. Miami, the lone ACC team in the field, finished the season 10-2 with the close losses to Louisville and SMU. Both Miami and Texas A&M beat Notre Dame, which barely missed the CFP.
A&M and Miami have played each other five times with with the Hurricanes leading the series, 3-2. Their most recent game in 2023 ended in a 48-33 Hurricanes win at Kyle Field.
In terms of odds to win the national title, Texas A&M is fifth at +1700, per FanDuel. That comes in behind Ohio State, Indiana Georgia, Oregon and Texas Tech. Miami is tied with Alabama and Ole Miss at +2200.
