Miami Gardens Police found Broadbelt suffering from multiple apparent dog bite injuries in the area of Northwest 14th Court and Northwest 196th Terrace on Monday morning.

Family members said Broadbelt was on her way to work her shift at Walmart, where she’s worked for the past 13 years, when she was attacked.

“She’s just always a person that always been helping. She’s just always helping persons, helping anybody, always a helpful person. A strong person,” daughter Shelley Ann Williams said Tuesday.

Miami-Dade Animal Services officials said in a statement Tuesday that the dogs involved haven’t been located, and it’s unclear whether the dogs were strays or owned.

Police said they’re still investigating the incident.
