7 days until Notre Dame opens the 2025 season at Miami

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) -WNDU.com is counting down the days until the Notre Dame football team begins its 2025 season against the Miami Hurricanes at Hard Rock Stadium. We’re providing bits of information and insight about the team and the game every day until the season begins.

What will you be doing one week from today? Will you be wearing a Notre Dame Jersey while listening to the Dropkick Murphys? Will you be cooking up something very unhealthy but absolutely delicious? Will you be on the beach in Miami soaking in some rays before the game. The Fighting Irish will take on the Hurricanes at 7:30 next Sunday night.

Here’s what we know. Notre Dame will start redshirt freshman CJ Carr at quarterback. It will be his first start for the Irish and his play will be a critical factor in the game. His play is the biggest question mark for Irish fans because Notre Dame has a stout defense, a very good offensive line and the best running backs in the country.

It’s going to be hot and muggy in Miami. The forecast for Aug. 31 calls for a temperature of about 80 that night with scattered thunderstorms. The Irish opened the season last year in similar conditions down in College Station and they won.

Notre Dame remains a 2.5 point favorite and that line has remained the same for many months. The over/under for the game is 53.5 on some platforms and 54.5 and some others.

WNDU.com will continue our countdown for one more week.
