Woman who had just moved to Miami among 2 found shot to death inside car – NBC 6 South Florida

Friends and family are desperate for answers after two people were found shot to death in downtown Miami.

Family and friends gathered in New York on Thursday for a mass in honor of Chastity Charlotte Rodriguez. The 35-year-old mom was found shot to death Saturday morning inside an SUV on Northeast 4th Street and Northeast 2nd Avenue, along with a man named Darius Coon.

Rodriguez’s friend said she tried to report her friend missing after multiple calls to her cellphone went unanswered. The last time she spoke with Rodriguez was just before 2:30 a.m. Thursday.

Rodriguez had recently moved to Miami and had only been in town for a few days. The friend said she worked at a strip club.

“She was fun, good friend, good sister, good daughter, good cousin,” said Rodriguez’s brother, who did not want to show his face on camera. “She was a better mother; she was a good mom to my nephew.”

“At this moment, I cannot tell you how I feel because it’s new for me,” the friend said. “I’m inside of this thing because I can’t believe this. I can’t believe this happened right now to me.”

The friend said the two victims met at a nightclub.

Police have not released a possible motive, but homicide detectives are actively investigating.
