Man speaks out after being struck by Corvette in Miami – NBC 6 South Florida

A man who said he was struck by a Corvette on Sunday while riding his bike in Miami is speaking out.

David Miller told NBC6 that he’s lucky to be alive and is hoping that those responsible for hitting him come forward.

He was riding his bike near the 1400 block of Northwest 14th Avenue when he said the car hit him.

“I remember going across the hood, like towards the windshield, hit the windshield, it was smashed, and I landed, has to be 20 feet or so from where I was hit,” Miller said.

Miller said his life could have changed in the blink of an eye.

“I was riding my bike, I was coming out of my apartment, and I came onto the street here,” he said. “I got to the intersection, look left for, you know, oncoming traffic, and didn’t see anyone, so I kept going on my bike. I look left again and I see a car coming.

According to Miller, the car that struck him was a silver Corvette that had three people inside.

“Went and sat on the curb because, you know, I wasn’t sure how bad I was banged up yet, and they kinda of went towards where I was hit, they stopped, slowed down for a little bit, seemed like they’re asking me if I was OK,” he said. “I remember kinda saying like, ‘Yea, I’m fine,’ but then I put my hand up like wait, I was trying to get the words out but just too pumped up, I guess, and they drove off.”

Miller suffered some bruises and had some cuts.

Miami Fire said the 34-year-old refused treatment at the scene and didn’t want to be taken to the hospital.

He is expected to be OK.

NBC6 has reached out to Miami Police for more information on the incident.
