Man accused of posing as real estate agent in South Miami given $1.2 million bond – NBC 6 South Florida

One of two suspects accused in a real estate scam in South Miami appeared before a judge Saturday afternoon.

Joshua Harrison and Jose Adolfo Lopez are facing several charges after prosecutors said they posed as licensed real estate brokers.

According to police, the duo tricked a woman earlier this year by promising her an apartment that never existed.

During Harrison’s court appearance, one victim told the judge what she went through.

“Your honor, I was scammed by this man out of money and a place to live. He promised to help me and my friends, and instead left us on the street,” she said. “Once he got the money, he never saw us again, just excuses, lies and left to other states to avoid responsibility. He convinced us that he was there to help us, being that we were all young college students, but it was all a lie.”

Other victims who spoke out detailed similar stories.

Harrison was given a $1.2 million bond.
